The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 Β£ per year.

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sushi Chef demonstrates extensive knowledge of sushi preparation, excellent knife skills, and a creative flair for crafting signature dishes.

The Sushi Chef will ensure the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation while delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

  • Summary of Responsibilities
  • Be fully conversant with the selection, preparation, and handling of fresh fish, seafood, and other sushi ingredients.
  • Prepare authentic Japanese stocks, soups, and sauces.
  • Correctly create and handle sushi rice to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Perform necessary quality control measures for all raw and cooked items.
  • Manage ordering and proper storage of supplies, including the maintenance and sharpening of knives.
  • Exhibit excellent presentation skills and take initiative in creating new and/or signature sushi dishes.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as requested by Head Chef.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Strong customer service skills with a pleasant professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-sales environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Superior cleanliness and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent time management skills and willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Environment

  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Miles Market operates Monday to Saturday from 7:30am – 7:00pm, Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm.
