Our Consultants are degree qualified in a science or engineering subject, are members of the Water Management Society and/or meet the requirements to join as full members and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Legionella management and control.
About the role
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide legionella consultancy services to clients. You will possess relevant technical knowledge and experience to a high level and will be responsible for ensuring the work undertaken is technically accurate and delivered to our clients in accordance with applicable legislation and guidance.
What you’ll be getting up to
- Undertake Legionella risk assessments and audits for domestic hot and cold water systems and evaporative cooling systems.
- Prepare detailed technical reports based on findings.
- Collect microbiological samples and submit them to our partner laboratory.
- Collaborate with AutoCAD contractors to ensure accurate schematic diagrams are produced.
- Produce reports using Word and/or automated report writing systems, ensuring timely upload to Vantify Risk Manager or other client management tools.
- Work is split between client site visits and home-based report writing using Word or automated systems, uploaded to Vantify Risk Manager within agreed timeframes.
- Regular travel to client sites including occasional overnight stays but these are agreed in advance.

In order to excel in this role you need…
- You will be required to demonstrate the highest level of customer service with a commercially driven attitude.
- Experience in Legionella risk assessments for water systems and evaporative cooling systems, including schematic diagrams.
- Knowledge of Legionella legislation and guidance.
- Science or Engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
- Consultancy experience and familiarity with AutoCAD/Visio.
- Membership of The Water Management Society (preferred).
