The vacancy is for a permanent, full-time position located in Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast, with hybrid working options. You will be contractually based in the office nearest to you, allowing you to work from home and come into the office to collaborate with your team(s) when required. We have flexible core hours and do not believe in a culture of presenteeism. Salary & Benefits include £40,500 + 10% pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a 35-hour working week, up to 13 flexi-days, private medical insurance, life assurance, and more!

Who are we? WRAP is a global environmental action NGO transforming food, packaging, textiles, and resource use systems in pursuit of circular living. The role of Project Accountant involves managing funding effectively and transparently, helping WRAP maximise our impact globally. You’ll join our Finance team and work closely with project teams, taking on the financial administration of a portfolio of funded projects. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports delivery, strengthens donor confidence, and enables better decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of funded projects, ensuring income and expenditure are recorded accurately and in line with donor requirements.
- Prepare clear, timely financial reports for funders and support responses to donor queries, audits, and returns.
- Work with project teams to develop and maintain robust budgets and forecasts, including staff costs, suppliers, sub-grants, and subcontractors.
- Track project performance, identifying risks such as under- or over-spend, exchange rate exposure, or funding gaps, and escalating issues early.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience managing the finances of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong Excel skills, with experience working with financial data to monitor performance and produce clear reports.
- Confidence working with non-finance colleagues, translating financial information into practical insight that supports delivery.
- Experience working at a charity, NGO, or complex global organisation.
