Applications are invited for a Trust F3 Junior Clinical Fellowship in Neuro Critical Care at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool. This is a Fixed Term Post for 12 months to cover maternity leave on the non-airway skilled rota tier within the Neuro Critical Care Unit.

The posts involves daytime & Out of Hours (OOH) resident shifts on Neurocritical Care Unit. The successful candidate will be working along with Specialty Trainees & ACCPs on the unit. The Specialty Trainees are on a separate 1:8 rota.

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust (WCFT) is an independent specialist neurosciences NHS Trust hospital providing a high quality, integrated and multidisciplinary neurosciences service to Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and part of West Lancashire which totals a population of 3.2 million. The Centre is adjacent to the Aintree University Hospitals.

The Centre is based in a purpose built building, opened in 1998. The Centre is virtually self- contained and has about 160 neuroscience beds available to the admitting specialities of neurosurgery, neurology and pain relief though the majority are occupied by neurosurgical patients. Critical care facility comprises a 16 bedded dedicated Neuro-Intensive Care Unit and a 4 bedded high dependency area.

Title:Junior Clinical Fellow in Neuroanaesthesia.

Employer: The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust

Responsible to: Clinical Director, Neuroanaesthsia & Neuro Critical Care, The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is being advertised as Full time. Less than full time (LTFT) applications will be considered but it will require proportionate amount of Out Of Hours shifts. The successful candidate will be based on the neuro-intensive care. They will be expected to provide resident cover during working hours and out of hours.

Duties of the post

A. To provide cover for Neuro-intensive Care

B. To participate in medical audit including attendance at the departmental audit meetings held once a month

C. Opportunities to deliver teaching to undergraduate medical students

D. Opportunities to contribute to ongoing research projects
