The Supervisor position within the Technical Operations team for Disney’s Distribution Operations (DO) EMEA is a highly specialised role requiring the applicant to draw on a broad range of technical knowledge from across the content supply chain including pre and post production, mastering, localisation and archiving. This role is responsible for technical coordination and specification requirements for a variety of incoming and outgoing media networks (linear/non-linear), 3rd party distribution of Disney content, and Disney+ locally produced EMEA Originals and Acquisitions.
Additionally, the Supervisor will manage the archiving of digital and physical assets for completed DTC Originals titles in EMEA, including scheduling and leading meetings and management of communications with internal teams and external productions and vendors.
The supervisor will oversee the technical onboarding of new Digital platforms to receive Disney content in UHD including Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Operations, the Supervisor is expected to identify areas of change and workflow improvements, interpret and track metrics, and seek continuous technical improvement across all Distribution Operations pillars.
What You Will Do
Management of physical and digital archiving for EMEA DTC Originals titles.
Managing communications within internal stakeholders and external vendors and production companies across EMEA.
Exercising experience with digital file formats, physical archiving technologies including LTO and AWS S3 cloud storage.
Client / Affiliate Onboarding Management
Overseeing the technical On-Boarding of new digital platforms to receive Disney content.
Supply-Chain Systems Analysis & Consultation
Contributing to a variety of system developments for the Media Supply Chain providing analysis, expertise and contextual reasoning to drive requirements
Deciphering and analyses high volumes of data to create detailed and accurate project plans, metrics and evidence-driven improvement plans
Technical Business Support
Working with internal/cross-divisional teams in ensuring operational efficiencies, best practices, support and capturing via documentation
Business Stakeholder partnership
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Post-Production, Technology, Digital or TV Distribution.
Proven experience of developing and deploying systems, and workflow improvements.
Proven experience working with MAM, DAM, MDM, DMS and AQC solutions.
Proven experience with XML/JSON technologies and encoding/transcoding for delivery to digital media clients, including metadata delivery requirements.
Thorough knowledge of video and audio mastering workflows, plus localization workflows including knowledge of dubbing, subtitling and re-mastering for local markets.
Experience of working directly with iTunes, Google and other digital platforms a strong advantage.
Strong commercial, technical and consumer understanding of transactional digital stores.
Experience of AGILE, LEAN and SCRUM development methodologies and BPM tools an advantage.
Excellent and demonstrable project management experience.
Experience of identifying and implementing workflow change.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.
