A key focus of this position will be maximizing our use of rights for the UEFA Women’s Champions League and LaLiga, creating compelling, platform‑optimised videos that bring these properties to life for our audiences. As we build towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup, you’ll also lead the development of new video formats to make ESPN UK’s social platforms a must‑follow for any football fan during the tournament.

This is an office‑based role: 3 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small team of video editors, ensuring creative excellence and consistency across all social video output.
  • Edit and produce short‑ and long‑form videos optimised for each platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, etc.).
  • Maximise and creatively leverage media rights from the UEFA Women’s Champions League and LaLiga to drive reach, engagement and brand growth.
  • Conceptualise and launch new social‑first formats ahead of the World Cup 2026, focused on fan engagement and shareability.
  • Collaborate with wider content teams to align on editorial direction and share audience insights.
  • Analyse performance data to continuously refine creative approaches and increase video views and engagement.
  • Stay ahead of social trends, platform updates and new video tools to keep our content innovative and relevant.
  • Supervise the content produced by teams in other regions, with a focus on match‑night production.
  • Work closely with Disney+, partners, and agencies to help drive awareness for the direct‑to‑consumer product.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to grow our audience and engagement.
  • Ensure content is aligned with the brand's goals and resonates with each platform’s audience.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in social video editing and creative production, including leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of creating social media videos that drive growth, engagement, and audience retention.
  • Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with strong motion design and storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of football culture and the dynamics of sports content across global audiences.
  • Experience leading creative teams, giving feedback, and managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of platform‑specific storytelling and trends across major social networks.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Creative mindset with a strong visual sense and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience leveraging live rights to drive engagement and grow audiences.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using performance tools to inform decision‑making.
