We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our External Reporting team for a 12‑month fixed term contract. The role supports the External Reporting team and Disney Controllership & Tax Executives with statutory financial statements preparation, ATOL and ABTA audits, and works closely with the EMEA Tax team.
Responsibilities include preparing statutory financial statements for three key UK legal entities, coordinating with external auditors, and supporting UK GAAP adjustments and audit procedures. The role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with either Monday or Friday working from home.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate with multiple external partners on key drivers for the financial statements and work with US GAAP teams on accounting transactions and UK GAAP treatment.
- Provide business partnering across Tax, Treasury, Legal, Global Controllership, SSC, and EMEA Controllership.
- Regularly expose to Disney senior executives and management.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for UK legal entities in line with FRS 102, consulting with auditors to facilitate timely audit completion and filing.
- Support Corporate Tax function with supporting schedules for tax calculations and ad‑hoc tax audit requirements.
- Prepare supporting schedules for ad‑hoc external audit deliverables – supporting SSC and EMEA Controllership.
- Consult with various teams on distribution projects and company reorganisation projects.
- Complete interim financial reviews and variance analysis for UK legal entities.
- Complete and submit key balance sheet accounts across the UK legal entities.
- Identify and drive process improvements to maintain high standards of service efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and Disney Minimum Control Standards through SOX testing procedures.
- Support management and wider finance team on ad‑hoc duties and projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- You will be qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) at the Senior Accountant grade or at the Finalist’s stage of your studies. Applicants are not required to have direct experience in all areas listed below; comprehensive on‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Strong experience of data analysis.
- Strong educational qualifications including accounting work experience.
- Strong Excel skills are important.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Company accounting experience preferred.
