About The Role & Team
At The Walt Disney Company, we believe that technology and storytelling go hand in hand. From our legendary parks and resorts to our cutting‑edge platforms, technology is the invisible magic that powers everything we do. This role sits within the Walt Disney Travel Company (International), the division that brings Disney Parks, Resorts, and experiences to guests across EMEA. We are seeking Senior .NET Developers to join our talented Hammersmith team and play a pivotal role in the next phase of our web platform modernisation, transitioning our e‑commerce platform and marketing microsites from their current ASP.NET MVC 5 foundation toward a modern, cloud‑hosted architecture.
We are currently hiring for two Senior .NET Developer positions. While both share the same core development responsibilities, one role will actively drive our Azure cloud migration strategy, whereas the other will focus on core development while supporting these cloud efforts. This is a permanent position located at our London office in Hammersmith, requiring four days of on‑site attendance per week.
What You Will Do
- You will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure web applications.
- Working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, your day‑to‑day will involve:
- Building and maintaining complex web solutions using ASP.NET MVC 5, C#, and React to deliver high‑quality, maintainable code.
- Depending on your specific role, you will either strategically drive or actively support the transition of legacy on‑premises solutions to a cloud‑native architecture.
- Applying SOLID principles, object‑oriented design, and industry best practices to build secure and performant systems.
- Working closely with Digital Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to define, estimate, and deliver features smoothly within sprint timelines.
- Participating in code reviews and helping guide mid‑level and junior developers on technical approaches and design decisions.
- Troubleshooting issues across environments and supporting stable release cycles across multiple websites.
What We Are Looking For
We know that talent comes in many forms. If you have a strong technical foundation and a problem‑solving mindset, we want to hear from you:
- Core Experience & Skills
- Strong, proven digital development experience, ideally with a background in bespoke e‑commerce and enterprise web applications.
- Proven expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC 5, SQL Server, and Entity Framework. .NET Core is a strong plus for our future roadmap.
- Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
- Experience in RESTful API design and integration, along with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps, TeamCity).
- Proficiency with source control (Git) and dependency management.
- Comfortable developing with front‑end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React) is highly desirable.
Additional Requirement (For The Cloud‑Driving Role)
- Hands‑on experience driving and architecting within the Azure ecosystem (App Services, SQL Database, Azure Functions, VNet, APIM) with a proven track record of migrating legacy systems to Azure.
Your Work Style
You have high standards, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. You are comfortable working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments and interact well with diverse backgrounds and work styles.
