About the Role

Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company’s Direct to Consumer video entertainment service. The service consists of long form and short form video built around six key content brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Hulu) with an appealing and easy to use interface accessed across multiple platforms (e.g. televisions, mobile devices, PCs). The Disney+ team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Disney+ across Europe, Middle East and Africa, specifically focused on marketing, customer acquisition and retention, partnerships and synergy, content programming, research and analytics.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Data Scientist to join our Disney+ Analytics & Insights EMEA team. The purpose of this role is to work collaboratively alongside functional EMEA Analytics teams (Content, Subscriber Growth, Local) and wider business leads to deliver robust data science projects and models. Sitting within the Data Science team there will be a focus on forecasting of customer trends and engagement as well as ad hoc modelling to gain additional insight from our vast customer data. This role will leverage excellent technical, storytelling and communication skills, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally to identify business needs and deliver data science projects across EMEA. This role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with either a Monday or Friday working from home.

What you will do

  • Drive the development, design and implementation of the engagement forecast model. End-to-end involvement from data collection, algorithm development and forecasting.
  • Play a key role in collaborating with stakeholders, communicating insights and productionalising results.
  • Continuously explore ways to improve the methodology and the model accuracy.
  • Manage and solve ad hoc modelling requests from stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain semantic models and extend them into agentic AI solutions.
  • Consult with stakeholders at all levels across Disney+ to aid in the delivery of data science driven projects.
  • Support insight analysts across EMEA Analytics team, ensuring statistically robust results are delivered and best practices are followed.
  • Build strong relationships across the Global and International Analytics and Data Science teams to collaborate where necessary.
  • Develop understanding of existing Global data science tools available and potential opportunities to apply them in EMEA.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient in writing SQL.
  • Significant experience in Python, R or other statistical programming language.
  • Familiarity with building and evaluating agentic AI solutions preferred.
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in data science-related roles.
  • Demonstrable understanding and practical application of data science concepts with particular focus on experimentation design, time-series forecasting and causal impact methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, delivering high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in approach, taking creative approaches to getting results where necessary.
  • Strong communication skills with experience talking to both technical and non-technical audiences about data science concepts, best practice and limitations.
  • Experience using consumer behavioural data preferred.
