What is the Programme?
This is a paid programme to give you a gateway to launch your career in Film & TV. With participants' time split between Pinewood Studios and the National Film & Television School in Beaconsfield, the Step on to Production programme is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to launch your career in this fast-paced industry.
Over the course of the programme, we will cover:
- The Foundations: Understanding the fundamentals of Film & TV Production, such as learning the lifecycle of a production, on-set roles and how to navigate the industry.
- Department Overviews: Introductions to key departments, equipment used, etc.
- Practical Skills: Radio etiquette, practical workshops.
- Professional Skills: Networking, set etiquette, navigating different working styles.
A role on a Disney production is not guaranteed upon completion of the programme. However, participants will be supported by the Crew Talent team in securing interviews for suitable trainee opportunities on Disney productions. Participants will receive continued support throughout the recruitment process and during their time on a Disney production.
We recruit Trainees in the following areas across our Productions:
- Production Management: Production Office, Accounts, Assistant Directors, Locations, Studio Unit, Publicity, Environmental
- Craft: Art Department, Set Decorating, Props, Costume, Hair and Makeup, Creature Effects
- Technical: Camera, Sound, Video, DIT, Grip, Electrical/Lighting, Script Supervision, SFX, VFX

Whether you're looking to take your first step into the industry or explore a new direction, no prior experience is required - just a genuine enthusiasm for Film & TV, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to developing your craft.

Eligibility:
To be eligible to take part in the Disney Crew Academy you must meet ALL the following criteria:
- Be 18 years or older by 12th October 2026
- Be available to take part in an assessment day on the 2nd or 3rd September
- Be available for the full duration of the course (12th β 28th October 2026)
Recruitment Process:
Our recruitment process has the following stages:
- CV Submission
- Video Interview - Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short, recorded video interview.
- Assessment Centre - Successful candidates will be invited to attend an in-person Assessment Centre and face-to-face interview on either the 8th or 9th September.
