Position Summary: Are you a creative visionary with a passion for bringing CG creatures and environments to life? Join ILM as a Texture Artist and become part of a team that defines excellence in the visual effects industry. We’re seeking an artist who embodies our collaborative spirit and creative ambition to create textures and surface details for our world‑class productions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop high-quality textures for 3D characters, digital doubles, and creatures, with a strong focus on surface realism.
  • Adapt to production needs by supporting hard‑surface and environment assets where required.
  • Combine artistic, technical, procedural, and hand‑crafted techniques to deliver high‑quality assets on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate closely with Show supervision, Modelers, and Look‑Development TDs to ensure consistency and excellence in achieving a photorealistic finish.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge, supporting others, and helping refine workflows and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in VFX texturing, with a portfolio demonstrating strong photorealistic asset work.
  • Strong production experience using Mari within established pipelines.
  • Comfortable exploring procedural and node‑based approaches as part of a flexible texturing workflow.
  • Familiarity with photogrammetry workflows and data processing.
  • Expertise in crafting digital materials that mimic real‑world reference.
  • Working knowledge of UV mapping principles.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities to navigate schedules and meet project demands.
  • Collaborative mindset, engaging constructively with teammates and cross‑department partners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for realism.
  • A solid understanding of film production and computer graphics workflows.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven production experience with Mari.
  • Experience with Substance Designer and/or Painter is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Katana, Nuke, and look‑development workflows.
  • A basic understanding of the full CG pipeline.
  • Production experience with industry‑standard tools and software.

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on‑site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
