As a Senior Attorney with experience in advertising and technology, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Disney’s rapidly evolving advertising business. You will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of complex issues, including digital advertising, data privacy, intellectual property, and commercial transactions. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, and business, contributing directly to the growth and innovation of Disney’s cutting-edge advertising solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Negotiate contracts with agencies and vendors, including agreements for ad sales, ad tech solutions, branded content, product placement, sponsorships, custom content productions, data sharing, and more.
- Collaborate closely with the Disney+ product, ad ops teams, and Disney’s privacy lawyers to identify, manage, and implement changes to the platform, especially in relation to targeted advertising.
- Application of data privacy laws in the context of digital advertising.
- Lead internal guidance pages, contract templates, and clause libraries for Disney’s advertising business in EMEA.
- Support and advise multiple senior stakeholders in our advertising business, with a focus on efficiency and building relationships.
- Support members of the Legal and Policy teams on a wide range of EMEA legal matters, including ad policies, content policies, privacy frameworks, and the impact of EMEA laws and regulatory guidance.
- Work with the Strategic Sourcing team to draft and negotiate technology, facilities, and security agreements.
- Assist with putting in place template agreements and systems to facilitate self-service of certain agreements.
- Provide support on the EMEA AI intake and approvals, including reviewing and advising on legal issues associated with AI systems.
- Provide advice to teams on websites and digital experiences, including website accessibility issues.
- Contract management lifecycle from inception to execution.
- Organization of documentation and systems.
- Work effectively with departmental colleagues on a cross-functional and cross-territory basis.
- Keep up to date with relevant legal and industry developments and, where appropriate, take opportunities to share that knowledge with colleagues.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve existing processes and procedures, including standardization of documents and legal resources.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in advertising and technology, preferably with some time spent in-house.
- A good understanding of online advertising, advertising technology, ad sales, and related data protection and e-privacy laws.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
