Disney Entertainment's eight-owned ABC stations are multiplatform leaders in local news and information. The only local news station with three downtown newsrooms (Raleigh/Fayetteville/Durham), ABC11 Eyewitness News provides 45.5 hours of local news every week, serving more than 1 million households in a 23-county area in North Carolina and Virginia. Eyewitness News also provides news, weather and sports information 24 hours a day on ABC11.com, the ABC11 mobile news app and the new connected TV app.

The ideal candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and be precise, detail-oriented, and able to take direction. Familiarity with non-linear editing systems such as Adobe Premiere and Dalet is preferred. You must be able to adapt to a constantly changing technical environment while maintaining a high level of excellence with our online and linear products. This key newsroom position requires excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor and an ability to troubleshoot under pressure and react accordingly. In addition to editing elements and packages for broadcast, you will edit content for our Connected TV (CTV) streaming apps, our website and all our social media platforms. You will also be responsible for recording and/or scheduling recordings of video, quality control and archiving material. Candidates should have a working knowledge of a server based-digital media workflow.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Must have experience editing shows and be proficient in media ingest and management
  • Must be proficient with video and audio principles - overseeing quality control during all newscasts
  • Coordinate with producers on rundowns and scripts

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • At least three years of experience
  • Experience with non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere and Dalet preferred).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an editor

Basic Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • College Degree
