We are currently looking for volunteers to support within our Rough Sleepersβ Intervention Project in Bridgend. By volunteering with The Wallich, you will be part of our community, striving to create a Wales where people stand together to provide hope, support, and solutions to end homelessness.
Project Description: Bridgend Rough Sleepers Intervention team provides an outreach service and drop-in centre for street homeless people. The team delivers much-needed provisions support and guidance to people that are sleeping rough or vulnerable housed within Bridgend. Our experienced staff support clients by providing breakfast, hot drinks, sleeping bags, warm clothing, toiletries, and help in locating further local provision throughout the day and evening. We also help to meet their current needs by offering a wide range of advice and by facilitating access to the most appropriate, relevant, and often specialist services.
Role Description: We strive to make sure that the duties you undertake align with your skills, experience, and development plans. In general, Support Volunteers will be involved in the following:
- Prepare and offer Humanitarian Aid to Rough Sleepers
- Assist with completion and submission of paperwork
- Attend team meetings when possible and contribute to team discussions
- Safeguard and promote the best interests of our service users
- Attend training as necessary
