We are currently looking for volunteers to support within our Rough Sleepers’ Intervention Service in Cardiff between the hours of 11:00-15:00 Monday - Friday. By volunteering with The Wallich, you will be part of our community, striving to create a Wales where people stand together to provide hope, support, and solutions to end homelessness.

The Service operates in Cardiff working with Service Users (the majority of whom are rough sleepers) who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The Service helps people to find solutions to the problems they are facing. The Service aims to engage vulnerable adults into support services, either by providing or signposting the relevant support, thereby preventing instances of homelessness and increasing independence.

We strive to make sure that the duties you undertake align with your skills, experience, and development plans. In general, Support Volunteers will be involved in the following:

  • Prepare and offer meals to Rough Sleepers involving service users in the process
  • Assisting with support and life skills
  • Attending team meetings when possible and contributing to team discussions
  • To safeguard and promote the best interests of our service users
  • Attending training as necessary
