Project Description
Gwent BOOST is mid-point in a five-year National Lottery Community Fund Helping End Homelessness funded project, the aim of the service is to make homelessness rare and stop recurrences. A partnership between The Wallich, St Giles Trust, Cyfannol Women’s Aid, Welsh Refugee Council, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Tai Pawb. The project delivers a range of activities to give people with lived experience of homelessness opportunities to access training, gain worthwhile qualifications, undertake volunteering and secure paid work. It is also looks to promote more inclusive practices, use a psychologically informed approach and adopts the principles of co‑production.
Purpose of Role
The postholder will be managed by The Wallich also will work alongside the partners to assist in the running of the Boost Project specifically our social enterprise The Re;Store. The Re;Store is a CIC Social Enterprise which is based in Pontypool. Here we deliver a diverse range of activities and workshops. The space, workshops and activities have been co‑produced, meeting the needs of individuals and the local community all aligned with BOOST values and ethos.
In the role you will directly facilitate the delivery of these workshops and activities. You will work alongside other Pioneers and our Social enterprise co‑ordinator. Here you will have opportunities to learn skills, gain knowledge and experience. Ensuring the space is fully complaint, that all set tasks are completed, bringing warmth and professionalism to The Re;Store.
You will deliver support from your knowledge, skills and life experience to enable individuals to address the complex issues surrounding homelessness. Tackling stigma, promoting greater understanding and integration while supporting individuals and the wider local community.
Through your role you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, with the opportunity to access a broad scope of training.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and is ringfenced for individuals with lived experience of homelessness, or similar.
