Overview

Dow Jones is seeking a sharp, versatile reporter to join our real-time news and analysis team, serving financial professionals around the world. Based in London, you’ll be on the front line of breaking news, spotting market-moving developments as they happen and turning them into headlines and stories that set the agenda. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office, with early starts (and early finishes) on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor European markets and corporate news, flashing headlines and short articles that move quickly across trading floors.
  • Explain the “why” behind stock, sector, and index moves, using real-time data and sharp analysis.
  • Track corporate earnings, economic releases, and policy shifts — identifying what truly matters for investors.
  • Deliver fast, accurate, jargon-free copy that professionals rely on to make decisions.
  • Shape longer-form and thematic pieces that connect the dots between markets, economies, and global events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal, and bureaus worldwide.
  • Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, speed, and editorial integrity.

You Have

  • Excellent written English; proficiency in another European language is highly valued.
  • Proven news judgment, attention to detail, and ability to cut through noise.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, earnings, economic indicators, or regulation.
  • The drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume newsroom, balancing speed with precision.
  • Calm under deadline pressure, with flexibility to switch gears at a moment’s notice.
