We are seeking an eDV-cleared Telephony Engineer to support a major Telephony Transformation Programme, delivering the migration from legacy voice systems to modern unified communications platforms. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you’ll be directly involved in deploying and transitioning critical telephony services within a secure and operationally sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery & Engineering
- Configure, test, and deploy telephony solutions (VoIP, SIP, SBCs, MS Teams Phone, etc.)
- Support migration activities including number porting, handset deployment, and legacy system decommissioning
- Troubleshoot telephony issues, call routing faults, and system integrations
- Build and configure gateways, trunks, and voice policies
- Programme Delivery
- Deliver work packages aligned to programme milestones
- Support site surveys, discovery, and migration planning
- Testing & Assurance
- Perform call-flow, failover, and user acceptance testing
- Validate routing, voicemail, and contact centre functionality
- Document results and support remediation activities
- Documentation & Stakeholder Engagement
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and as-built records
- Support knowledge transfer to operational teams
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in a secure environment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active UK eDV Clearance (mandatory)
- Proven experience as a Telephony / Voice Engineer in secure or enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with VoIP, SIP, SBCs, and call routing
- Experience with cloud telephony platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams Phone, Cisco, Mitel, Zoom Phone)
- Experience delivering telephony migrations or transformation programmes
- Strong troubleshooting skills across voice and network domains
