As a Commis Sommelier, you will support the sommelier team in delivering exceptional wine service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with wine service during service
- Maintaining and restocking the wine cellar
- Learning about our wine list to develop your knowledge
This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone passionate about wine and eager to grow within a professional, fine dining environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure each service is professionally organised and fully prepared.
- Clean, maintain, and care for all equipment daily.
- Serve your station and guests promptly, accurately, and in a professional, courteous, and informative manner.
- Accept, store, and securely manage stock and deliveries at all times.
- Communicate all guest feedback, issues, and compliments, and respond effectively as required.
- Advise guests on suitable wines and beverages before, during, and after their meal, based on food pairing, preferences, and budget.
- Attend and contribute to training sessions, tastings, and seminars whenever possible.
- Maintain cellars and storage areas in a neat, tidy, and safe condition, in line with company regulations.
