A Fantastic Opportunity for the Right Couple

We are looking for an enthusiastic, personable and hands-on tenant(s) to take on the tenancy and run and develop a small, traditional village pub in the heart of the local community. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy hospitality, meeting people and creating a welcoming atmosphere where locals and visitors alike feel at home. The pub has a strong community feel and offers the opportunity to build on its existing reputation while putting your own personality, ideas and entrepreneurial approach into the business.

The Tenancy Opportunity

The successful applicant(s) will enter into a formal tenancy agreement for the pub and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and development of the business. Importantly, the pub managers/tenants will retain all profits generated by the business, after payment of the agreed rent and insurance costs in accordance with the terms of the tenancy agreement. This provides the successful couple with a genuine opportunity to build and grow their own pub business, with the financial benefit of increasing turnover and profitability directly reflected in the profits they retain.

The Role

• Creating a warm, friendly and welcoming environment
• Managing the bar and day-to-day operations
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Building strong relationships with local customers and community groups
• Managing staff, rotas and suppliers
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Organising and promoting events and community activities
• Providing food service
• Managing stock, cash handling and basic administration
• Developing ideas to increase trade and profitability
• Taking an active role in making the pub a successful and valued village hub

About You

• Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy people
• Experienced in hospitality, pubs, restaurants or a similar customer-facing environment
• Comfortable being hands-on and leading from the front
• Organised and commercially minded
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work well as a team
• Passionate about creating a great pub experience
• Keen to become part of the local community
• Full of ideas and willing to make the pub their own
• Motivated by the opportunity to build a profitable business for themselves

Previous experience running or managing a pub in the UK is essential, although we would also consider applicants with strong hospitality and management experience who are ready for their next challenge.
