We are looking for a salaried GP to join our practice team for 5-6 sessions per week. We are an NHS GP Surgery located in Finsbury Park, offering first class patient-centred primary care. Our mission is to improve the health, wellbeing and quality of lives for those we care for. We are passionate about equality, diversity, community, sustainability and being a large training practice. We are looking to recruit a GP on a 9-12 month fixed term contract. The sessions will be across Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays ideally with a start date of end of March - beginning of April.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be joining our forward thinking and supported clinical team. The practice is newly refurbished with large spacious clinical rooms and a supportive management and admin structure to allow our clinical teams to focus on patient care. The role will involve a mixture of routine sessions and 1x duty/triage session a week once inducted.

The Village is a medium to large practice with over 13,000 patients, 2 GP partners, 1 clinical pharmacist partner and 8 salaried GPs. We have a large clinical team including nurses, pharmacists, a full time social prescriber and a first contact physiotherapist. We are an award winning GP practice, leaders in environmental sustainability, embedding net zero aims into our vision and values. In 2025 we were awarded Platinum in the RCGP Green Impact for Health awards.

We host weekly team meetings and MDTs for clinical teams and long term condition teams to provide holistic care. We believe in community and work closely with the council and other key stakeholders to host community projects and charity led services for our population. We are a training practice with 3x GP trainees and 1x F2 Doctor and are a registered learning environment to support and upskill our team to progress. Our Core Values are working as a team, learning and improving and improving the health and wellbeing of our patients as well as the wellbeing of our practice team.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

The sessions will be a mixture of telephone calls and face-to-face appointments in routine clinics with 1-2 Duty/Triage sessions a week depending on the practice needs. The GP will carry out home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and actioning results and paperwork with the support of the admin team. Working to the GMC and NICE guidelines as well as practice policies. Assessing the health care needs of patients. Management of chronic long term conditions with the LTC & QOF teams. Prescribing in line with practice, local and national guidelines as appropriate. To support the development of our trainees and clinical teams within the practice.

  • GMC registered with a licence to practice
  • Registered on the NHS performers list
  • Confident with EMIS and clinical tools including Docman, Accurx.
