Due to our continued growth and success we are recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our team. The Village Bakery, an award-winning family bakery, is currently looking for a Project Engineer to complement an existing passionate and enthusiastic team. Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, regionally through the Village Bakery brand and internationally through the retailer network. In achieving this vision we want to be recognised as a family business that continually invests in the future through the development of our people, quality and food safety culture, equipment and processes.
As a member of our Engineering Team you will be directly contributing to this vision through your core tasks and responsibilities which will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Projects Manager with the planning, building, installation and commissioning of all elements of new build project work across the Village Bakery Group.
- Ensuring there is a safe environment for those who work in, or visit, any of our manufacturing facilities.
- Identifying and delivering against opportunities to implement changes and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant efficiencies and energy optimisation.
- Managing projects contractor performance whilst on site to ensure the most effective and efficient fix.
- Supporting the introduction of new equipment to our market-leading production facilities as part of our continued drive for innovation.
- Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with stakeholders, managing expectations where required.
- Continuous professional development through industry specific training.
- Working with our technical team to ensure audit readiness at all times.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm.
The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:
- Demonstrable experience within a similar projects engineering role, including the planning and delivery of new installations.
- Demonstrable hand-on experience of project planning, including the administration associated with production and presentation of GANTT charts, timelines, project plans, etc.
- Time served multi-skilled engineer as this role will require hands-on support.
- A true problem solver in all areas.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
In return for the above the successful candidate will receive a total reward package that includes:
- A competitive salary of between ÂŁ42,000 to ÂŁ52,500 based on experience.
- Combined Pension contributions (8%).
- Death in Service (4x Gross Basic Salary).
