Working Hours: Flexible Working Schedule: 5 days per week (42.5 hours), scheduled between Monday and Sunday. Weekends, bank holidays, early morning and late-night work required to support on-site event management.

ROLE PURPOSE
As our Events Manager, you’ll lead the full lifecycle of our events function, from generating sales and planning logistics to delivering seamless, memorable experiences. This is a hands-on role that blends creativity with organisation - whether hosting venue events or managing private hires, you’ll build strong client relationships, coordinate suppliers, lead staff, and ensure every detail is executed flawlessly. You will be pivotal in upholding our reputation for exceptional guest experiences while keeping operations, finances, and health & safety standards on track.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
EVENT SALES
- Generate and implement creative event ideas to drive press coverage and positive publicity.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow event revenue and build client relationships.
- Conduct professional site visits with prospective clients, showcasing the venue’s features and offerings alongside the Head of Business Development.
- Manage contracts, client communications, and the Events inbox, ensuring timely, engaging, and accurate responses.
- Maintain secure, GDPR-compliant databases of clients and partners, ensuring records and interactions are kept up to date.
EVENT PLANNING
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of events, from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up, including staffing arrangements and liaison with suppliers, caterers, production companies, and other contractors to ensure all services are delivered to the highest standard.
- Collaborate with operational managers to ensure a detailed handover and seamless delivery of events, including logistical requirements, floor plan, equipment, and catering arrangements.
- Ensure the smooth execution of events, proactively addressing any issues that may arise.
- Administration: Manage the attraction’s events and private hire calendar, placing hold and confirmed notices in the calendars, raising purchase orders.
- Work closely with finance to ensure event clients are invoiced on time and payments are received by the agreed deadline.
- Produce full event P&L’s before undertaking any activity, and again once the activity has concluded, in order to ensure and measure profitability.
EVENT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERY
- Deliver premium event services by managing planning, logistics, and execution while maintaining clear client communication and exceeding expectations.
- Oversee event logistics, including venue setup, load-in/out, scheduling, and on-site management.
- Take on the role of Event Duty Manager, leading staff and ensuring seamless delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to guarantee smooth operations and successful outcomes.
- Uphold client expectations and company standards, ensuring every event reflects the highest levels of quality and service.
OPERATIONAL STANDARDS
- Take on ad-hoc Duty Manager Shifts; daily management of the operation and responsible for the general running of the attraction.
- Adopt the role of ‘Bronzer/Silver Command’ in an Incident Management Situation by implementing key decisions and instigations made by the SMT.
- To undertake and ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Fire procedures.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in event management, including sales, planning, delivery, and post-event evaluation.
- Strong track record of liaising with suppliers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality events.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, fire safety, and risk assessment in an event/venue environment.
- Experience in managing event budgets, including producing and reconciling P&Ls.
- Familiarity with GDPR and maintaining accurate client databases.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong sales and business development skills, with the ability to identify revenue opportunities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in client-facing situations (e.g. site visits, negotiations).
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, including managing staff during events.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Competent in administrative processes including scheduling, contracts, invoicing, and purchase orders.
- Professional, proactive, and client-focused approach.
- Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and out-of-hours as required by events.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining service standards.
- Previous experience in a visitor attraction, hospitality, or heritage venue.
- Knowledge of media relations and experience generating publicity for events.
- First Aid, Health & Safety, or Fire Marshal training.
