Do you enjoy working closely with young people, supporting their progress and celebrating their success? We require a Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at The Victory Academy providing support to our Key Stage 3 and 4 students. The successful candidate will work with the Student Services Manager and Pastoral Support Team responsible for the efficient and effective pastoral and behavioural support provision, ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
This role includes leading on the supervision of our Internal Reflection Room, promoting a positive ethos that supports our Behaviour for Learning Policy and students' learning. Other responsibilities include assisting in the promotion of high standards of behaviour and conduct within the Academy and providing support for colleagues through the enactment of Academy policy and procedure. Supporting colleagues as directed in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy both within classrooms and in other defined learning environments.
Our Pastoral Support Assistant will:
- Maintain a visible presence about the Academy throughout the day.
- Lead on-call and provide support for incidents when needed.
- Supervise students before school, during break, lunch and after school.
- Support and monitor interventions for behaviour, learning and achievement.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and staff including HOYs/HODs as appropriate.
- Mentor vulnerable groups of students who are at risk of underachieving.
