An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join The Veterinary Centre Glasgow, a long-established small animal practice with deep roots in Glasgow's West End. Established in 1945 and proudly part of inspiring vet care since 2019, this is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a progressive practice where collaboration, clinical excellence and exceptional patient care are at the heart of everything we do.

You’ll enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload with a rewarding balance of consultations, surgery and diagnostics, while working alongside an experienced and supportive team who are passionate about learning and developing together.

Flexibility that fits your lifestyle

We know that work-life balance is important, which is why we offer flexible working patterns designed to support you both inside and outside of work. This full-time position involves 40 hours per week over 4 days, with working hours between 8:30am and 7:30pm. You’ll share a 1 in 5 Saturday rota, working 8:30am-5:30pm, with no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities, as emergency and OOH cover is provided by Vets Now Glasgow. We’re also happy to discuss flexible working arrangements where possible.

The Veterinary Centre Glasgow is a well-equipped, single-site small animal practice located in the vibrant West End of Glasgow, offering the perfect combination of city living and community-focused veterinary care. The practice recently underwent an exciting refurbishment, including the addition of a dedicated dental suite with dental radiography, providing an excellent opportunity to continue developing this area of the practice.

Our facilities include:

  • Digital radiography
  • Dental radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Full in-house laboratory
  • Therapeutic laser for chronic pain management

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own clinical interests, influence future investment and contribute to the continued development of clinical standards across the practice.

Our team and culture

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive and ambitious team of 17 colleagues, including 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Nurses, a Practice Manager and a Head Veterinary Nurse. The team genuinely enjoys working together and has a strong focus on continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing and developing clinical skills. You’ll be supported to build your confidence, develop your interests and contribute your own ideas to the team.
