Our client is seeking a confident and experienced Hospital Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated small animal emergency team in a sole-charge overnight role. This position offers a varied mix of inpatient care, out-of-hours emergencies, and A&E cases, supported by experienced night nurses and access to advanced clinical equipment including CT, endoscopy, ultrasound, dental radiography, laparoscopy, and digital imaging.

Qualifications Needed

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with strong small animal experience
  • Confident working sole charge during overnight shifts
  • Comfortable managing emergency, inpatient, and A&E caseloads
  • ECC certificate interest welcomed, with support available for future study
  • Positive team-focused approach with strong clinical judgement

Responsibilities

  • Managing overnight inpatient care and urgent emergency presentations
  • Providing clear clinical decisions during sole-charge night shifts
  • Working closely with experienced night nurses throughout each rota
  • Using advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment where clinically needed
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care, communication, and case continuity
