About the team

Our Design team is split across our Covent Garden Office, and Liverpool Head Office. The close-knit team are responsible for our own brand design work across menswear, womenswear and home categories. It's a creative environment with design teams working hard to deliver great product for our customers.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and hardworking Junior to join our small but dynamic Womenswear team, working from either Liverpool or London. This role has a focus on looking at and building both speed to market prints & graphics and main womenswear prints and graphics for our own brands ‘The Very Collection & Michelle Keagan”, and being an active member of the womenswear team, helping across multiple categories when needed. This role requires previous experience working within a womenswear team on print & graphics and having a detailed understanding of the process of designing a womenswear department, where key areas would be Jersey & Wovens. Researching print and graphics for both speed to market and long lead also trend across multiple categories including Jersey, Wovens and Nightwear. Producing print focused trend boards, catwalk reports and shop reports for multiple womenswear categories. Working closely with buying teams to create cohesive and saleable prints and graphics. Working closely with the technical team, advising factories on techniques and colours. Sourcing from the supply base and building strong relationships with suppliers. Reacting to sales information and designing commercially relevant, fashion-forward graphics and prints with our customer in mind.

About you

  • You will be an experienced Womenswear Designer with a keen print & graphic eye.
  • Previous experience at Assistant or Junior Designer level is essential, and you will be ready to take on a new challenge in a varied and important role within our Design team.
  • Have strong presentation skills and be confident to present designs in meetings.
  • Knowledge of printing techniques and fabrics, and ability to translate onto product.
  • Knowledge of colour, graphics and print, and ability to incorporate this into trends clearly.
  • Knowledge of Ai: to assist print process.
  • Strong skills in illustrator, photoshop handpainting & drawing.
  • Ability to create clear and detailed print and graphic packs to be sent to the supply chain.
  • Ability to translate initial ideas and concepts into commercial designs.
