Our Data team sits at the heart of the business, enabling better decisions through trusted data, meaningful insights and scalable platforms. The team partners with colleagues across Technology, Product, Commercial, Finance, Operations, Customer and Executive Leadership, helping them understand performance, identify opportunities and solve complex business challenges.
As Head of Data, you'll provide leadership across our data capabilities, ensuring we have the right strategy, governance, platforms and talent in place to support business growth. You'll play a key role in connecting technical expertise with commercial outcomes, helping stakeholders unlock the value of data in practical and meaningful ways. Data plays a vital role in how we understand our customers, improve experiences and make smarter decisions across Very.
We're looking for a Head of Data to lead our Data function, bringing together people, platforms and insights to help the business realise the full value of its data. - This is a highly collaborative role with visibility at senior leadership level. You'll build strong relationships across Very, acting as a trusted partner and advocate for data-led decision making while ensuring the Data function remains closely connected to business needs.
About you
- We're looking for an experienced data leader who combines strong technical understanding with commercial awareness and exceptional people leadership.
- Significant experience leading Data, Analytics or Business Intelligence functions.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver a data strategy that supports business objectives.
- Experience building, leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
- Experience translating complex data concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of data governance, quality, security and best practice.
- Experience leading large-scale data platforms, reporting or analytics capabilities.
- A collaborative and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Experience within retail, ecommerce, digital or consumer-focused businesses.
- Exposure to cloud-based data technologies and modern data platforms.
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning or advanced analytics initiatives.
- Familiarity with data product or self-service analytics approaches.
