About the Role
The Business Analyst (BA) identifies, analyses and articulates business problems and opportunities, translating them into clear, testable requirements and measurable outcomes. The BA collaborates across Product, Technology and Business teams to enable change that improves customer experience, operational efficiency and commercial performance, ensuring traceability from problem statement through to benefits realisation.
What you will be doing
- Discovery & problem definition: Elicit and validate business needs via interviews, workshops, observation and data analysis. Define clear problem/opportunity statements, objectives, scope and success metrics aligned to SDLC standards. Analyse current-state processes, customer journeys and systems; identify pain points and root causes.
- Requirements & design support: Translate needs into right-sized requirements and acceptance criteria (user stories, epics, use cases), ensuring traceability to SDLC documentation. Facilitate solution options aligned with architecture, regulatory and operational constraints, connecting work to corporate objectives. Support UX/design and engineering with clarifications, edge cases and non‑functional requirements.
- Delivery & backlog management: Product Managers to shape and prioritise the backlog based on value, risk and dependencies. Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases, releases and benefits. Support Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, reviews) or hybrid/waterfall deliverables as appropriate.
- Stakeholder engagement & communication: Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Data, Compliance and Customer Services. Facilitate workshops and decision forums; present complex information clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences. Negotiate scope and trade‑offs, balancing customer value, operational impact, risk and cost.
- Data & evidence: Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform decisions (e.g., KPIs, funnel metrics, process performance). Define and track success measures, benefits and post‑implementation outcomes. Data Mapping Support test planning, UAT and defect triage with clear linkage to requirements.
- Governance & compliance: Ensure adherence to organisational policies, information security, data privacy and regulatory requirements. Contribute to change governance and risk/control processes; maintain high‑quality documentation.
About you
- Solid experience in Business Analysis or Systems Analysis within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Strong grasp of Agile (Scrum/Kanban).
- Proficiency in requirements engineering, process mapping, data and systems analysis.
- Ability to translate ambiguous needs into clear, testable requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Business, IT or related field.
- Professional certifications beneficial: IIBA (ECBA/CCBA/CBAP), BCS Business Analysis, Agile (Scrum, SAFe), Product certifications.
- Financial Services experience (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services.
- Experience with digital lending platforms or core banking systems.
