About The Team
You will join the Analytical & Scoring Model Review team within Credit Risk, a specialised team of four within the wider Credit Risk department (approximately 60 FTE). The team operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities. Our work spans various areas of Credit Risk, including peer reviews of predictive models, review of key analyses, strategic implementation reviews, and performance monitoring and controls across policy areas. In addition, we carry out ad hoc analysis into areas of particular interest.

We don\’t expect you to know everything, we have a friendly team who will be able to support you and help you settle in and learn.

About The Role
The role will leverage your analytical expertise to support the review and validation of scoring models, data-driven strategies, and analytical processes. Reporting to the Analytical and Scoring Model Review Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Model Review and Validation:
Assess the build process, performance, and implementation of scoring models, ensuring they meet business needs and regulatory standards.

As a business, we are committed to advancing the development of machine learning models. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting this progress by reviewing and refining these models.

Data Analysis and Insights:
Assess data analysis techniques to evaluate credit policies, identify exceptions, and provide actionable insights.

Collaboration:
Work closely with policy teams to contribute to regular performance reviews and strategic initiatives.

You\’ll need to be able to manage the expectations of stakeholders alongside prioritising your workload ensuring you\’re consistently adding value to both our customers and business.

You\’ll be surrounded by the best talent across Financial Services and the wider group – working collaboratively to fulfil the ambitions of the business and the Credit Risk Strategy Department.

About You
Our underlying requirement is to find the right candidate, so we\’re keen to hear from you even if you don\’t think you tick all of these boxes.

  • Comfortable with SQL, SAS and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Python would be advantageous but not essential
  • Degree educated in a relevant field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or similar) and/or practical experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience of Credit Risk or Financial Services would be advantageous but not essential
  • You\’re curious, analytical and logical by nature with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confident, can-do attitude and general hunger to add value and develop
  • You\’re a team player who can quickly establish relationships with our existing team and key stakeholders
  • We\’re also interested in your softer skills – your confidence to challenge and ask the right questions
  • There is very little hierarchy here and if you were to join us, you would be expected to have a voice and the confidence to use it.
