About the Team
We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join our dynamic Garden and Festive team, based in Speke. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract within a fast-paced and creative environment.
About the Role
This is an exciting position in a growing category within our Home division. You\’ll work across both branded and own-brand ranges, playing a key role in developing innovative products and collaborating closely with our design, merchandising, and sourcing teams, as well as suppliers across the Far East, Europe, and the UK.
You’ll also partner with leading strategic brands to deliver compelling, trend-led ranges that delight our customers. Staying ahead of market trends and identifying new product opportunities will be central to your success.
Collaboration is key in this role – you\’ll work cross-functionally with trading and marketing teams to bring our Home strategy to life across all channels, ensuring we deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for department KPIs and management of the team on a large category
- Maintaining strong relationships with strategic brands
- Building commercial ranges and working collaboratively with designers and suppliers
- Deputising for the Buying Manager in key meetings where required
- Liaising with senior management team, clearly articulating category performance and areas for improvement
- Lead and make decisions under pressure
- Leading on face-to-face brand meetings, terms, negotiations and supplier visits
- Maintaining an in-depth awareness of market trends, competitor activity and price positioning to ensure competitiveness within the category
- Looking to onboard new brands in line with our retail strategy
About You
Previous experience of operating at Buyer level or significant experience operating at Junior Buyer.
- Experience of product development and direct sourcing.
- The ability to lead and engage in a high performing and well established team.
- Solutions and delivery focused.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
