Our construction claims group provides expert services to contractors, owners, developers, sureties, and attorneys for construction disputes. These services include forensic schedule and delay analysis, standard-of-care reviews, and liability reviews. We are looking for a Senior Managing Consultant with construction delay and schedule analysis, to join our growing team.
Responsibilities- Review data and documentation, including construction drawings, schedules, submittals and shop drawings, daily reports, weather data, cost reports, and more, to determine trends and key findings for the development of expert reports.
- Prepare forensic schedule analysis and calculate delays through the use of various modeling methods, such as As-Built vs. As-Built, Impacted as Planned, Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis.
- Evaluate and substantiate productivity impacts.
- Review and verify construction costs and cost reasonableness.
- Manage team for expert engagements, which may include oversight of engineers, estimators, and analysts.
- Compose technical expert reports and prepare demonstrative exhibits and graphics.
- Assist with business development and growth of service area through client meetings, technical papers, and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, construction-related field (i.e.: architecture, construction management, engineering) required - advanced degree preferred.
- PE (Professional Engineer) or RA (Registered Architect) architecture license preferred.
- 7+ years experience in construction management, construction claims, or scheduling and cost control - must have worked with attorneys on schedule delay claims.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Advanced proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and have a firm understanding of CPM scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience with disputes, including arbitration or litigation.
- Prior experience providing expert testimony in a court of law strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising and/or mentoring junior staff.
- Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including expert or technical report writing.
- Proficiency with standard software packages (MS Office) required.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 required.
- Experience in providing reliable work product review for technical deliverables.
- Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Able to provide oversight and direction to assigned staff.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Developing increased emotional intelligence to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Able to handle multiple priorities and perform consistently and positively under high stress conditions.
- Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe) required.
