We are seeking a Chef to work in the kitchen ensuring the production of high-quality food and following all legal requirements in line with contractual obligations and company expectations, ensuring the delivery of excellent food and following all health & safety and food safety requirements at all times.

Responsibilities

  • To prepare, produce and serve high-quality dishes
  • To prepare fresh food items for use in dishes
  • To follow recipes to company standard to ensure the allergen report is correct
  • To monitor portion size and wastage
  • To work in a safe manner to ensure safety of yourself and others
  • To communicate effectively with the front of house team to ensure successful service periods
  • To work 'front of house' on the servery as required
  • To communicate with guests in a professional manner
  • To adhere to all training / guidelines for health & safety, food handling, COSHH, uniform standards, personal protective equipment, manual handling and fire regulations
  • To ensure all displays and counters comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements including food information regulations
  • To complete and update all food safety and health & safety paperwork correctly during your shift to ensure full compliance
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen during and at the end of your shift, ensuring health and safety hazards, issues, near misses and accidents are reported to a senior member of the team at the earliest opportunity
  • To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • To complete all compulsory training as requested by a senior member of the team
  • To follow all company and unit profit protection procedures, reporting any issues to your line manager
  • To assist with stocktaking as requested
  • To ensure all team members are treated with respect
  • To be flexible and comply with any reasonable requests made by your line manager, including working within other units within reasonable distance
  • To be able to self-supervise when working alone and to ensure all safety guidelines are upheld

Qualifications

  • A good communicator with the ability to liaise with customers and clients
  • An enthusiastic individual with a passion for excellent service delivery
  • Competent in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 Catering NVQ Level 2
  • Basic food hygiene level 2
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience
  • Experience within a similar role
  • IT literate
