Our client, an international company, is recognised worldwide for exceptional safety, quality and service, focusing on protecting people and the environment. They engineer and manufacture safety controls for fuel storage and transport of hazardous liquids.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide field service support including preventative and corrective maintenance of Electronic Overfill Prevention, Static Grounding and Vehicle Identification Systems.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer technical issues via phone and at customer site.
- Repair product warranty returns at facility workshop where required.
- Commissioning of new equipment.
- Respond to customer product inquiries.
- Repair, test and maintain equipment.
- Make recommendations to customer maintenance technicians.
- Assist in providing technical input to customer proposals, projects and presentations.
- Approximately sixty percent travel within the UK & Ireland with nights away and office-facility based.
- Arrange customer visits and plan trip itinerary to assigned locations for service maintenance annual visits with support from Technical Manager.
- Provide technical presentations/training/workshop sessions at customer site.
- Product assembly work where required.
- Attend trade shows/conferences if required for Technical Sales support.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- BTEC ONC or 2361 City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in electronics/electrical engineering.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in an electrical or field service environment.
- Ability to read and work with schematics and experience with various electronic testing equipment and procedures.
- Relevant engineering experience in the transportation or petroleum industries would be a benefit.
- Confidence to interact at all levels.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to follow procedures, critical thinking, and process improvement.
- Strong organisational, verbal, written and communication skills.
- Proficiency in common software systems (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and within our CRM system; full training given).
