The Company Being a major communications provider, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. Our client has one of the largest dedicated radio engineering team in the UK. Each of their staff member is trained to the highest standard and provided with the latest DMR and Tetra test sets to ensure even the latest equipment can be repaired to component level. With continued expansion they are now seeking a Radio/Cellular Engineer to join this thriving business. Job Summary Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Radio/cellular engineer to support and maintain critical airport communication systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance of communication equipment used for operational, security, emergency, and airside activities. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair radio/cellular communication systems and associated equipment. Conduct routine inspections testing, and preventative maintenance on VHF/UHF radio systems, repeaters, antennas, dispatch consoles and related infrastructure. Understanding on DAS system/fault finding Monitor system performance and respond promptly to faults or service interruptions. Support airport operational teams by ensuring continuous communication capability across all departments. Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and asset registers. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and regulatory authorities when required. Assist with system upgrades, expansions, and new communication projects. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with aviation, health and safety, and regulatory requirements. Participate in emergency response and on-call support when required. Manage spare parts inventory related to communication equipment. Qualifications & Experience Essential Experience maintaining radio/cellular communication systems. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of RF systems, antennas, transmission lines, and communication networks. Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Full driving licence. Pass a security check to obtain an airside pass Desirable Experience working in an airport, aviation, emergency services, or critical infrastructure environment. Diploma, HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Radio Engineering, or a related field. Experience installing radio equipment in vehicles. Knowledge of 5G, LTE, WiFi and other wireless techonoliges. Experience with digital radio technologies (DMR, TETRA, P25, etc.). Understanding of IP-based communication systems. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good organisational and documentation skills. Working Conditions Primarily airport-based with access to operational and restricted areas.
