A leading independent communications supplier, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. Our client has a dedicated radio engineering team in the UK, with staff trained by leading manufacturers to the highest standard and equipped with the latest DMR and Tetra test sets.
With continued expansion, they are seeking a Field Radio Engineer to join this thriving business.
The Role
You will be working within the dedicated engineering team and be personally responsible for providing bespoke technical solutions for customers and SMEs on all Radio Engineering.
- Design and build of bespoke technical solutions in line with customer requirements.
- Provide Technical assurance to customers.
- Preparation CODEPLUGS/FLEET Plans for customer requirements (Motorola & Hytera).
- Installation, Troubleshooting and maintenance of telecommunication equipment from different vendors: Hytera, Motorola, Tait, Simoco and Kenwood.
- Site Maintenance and servicing.
- Faults Management with log analysis, defects debug and work around responsibility.
- Business support: customer needs analysis and customer presentation of new products.
- Involved in providing Technical Support to the communication systems in major contracts.
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years experience from within either military or commercial Radio communication.
- RF propagation experience.
- Strong IT experience specifically: database management & networking topologies & TCP/IP & DMR/PMR software applications.
- Must either be currently SC (security cleared) or held previously and able to refresh without any issues.
- Experience in fault finding across a multitude of telecommunication platforms.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- RF fault diagnostics.
- Broader technical skills, specifically in the design of bespoke solutions.
Desired:
- Knowledge of PMR programming software Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood and Hytera.
- Trunk Radio (MPT1327) database management.
- COTS radio repair down to component level, namely Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood and Hytera.
