A major manufacturer of radio systems is seeking a Systems Radio Engineer to join their dedicated engineering team. The company specialises in the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks.

The Role

  • Design and build bespoke technical solutions in line with customer requirements.
  • Provide technical assurance to customers.
  • Preparation of CODEPLUGS/FLEET Plans for customer requirements.
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecommunication equipment from various vendors: Hytera, Motorola, Tait, Simoco, and Kenwood.
  • Site maintenance and servicing.
  • Faults management with log analysis, defects debug, and work around responsibility.
  • Business support: customer needs analysis and presentation of new products.
  • Providing technical support to communication systems in major contracts.

Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years experience in military or commercial radio communication.
  • RF propagation experience.
  • Strong IT experience, specifically in database management, networking topologies, TCP/IP, and DMR/PMR software applications.
  • Must either be currently SC (security cleared) or held previously and able to refresh without any issues.
  • Experience in fault finding across multiple telecommunication platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • RF fault diagnostics.
  • Broader technical skills, specifically in the design of bespoke solutions.

Desired

  • Knowledge of PMR programming software: Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood, and Hytera.
  • Trunk Radio (MPT1327) database management.
  • COTS radio repair down to component level, namely Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood, and Hytera.
