The role involves joining our Transport team as a Class One (HGV) driver, ensuring the delivery of plastic, steel and associated products (stillages) to sites in the UK and Northern Ireland using both Articulated and Wagon and Drag HGV vehicles. Responsibilities include:
- Delivery of orders on time and in good working condition.
- Handling customer merchandise efficiently and ensuring full accuracy to maintain outstanding service.
- Showing a flexible attitude by providing cover during busy periods and for holiday and absence coverage.
- Accurately completing all records, including tachograph records, trip sheets, vehicle check sheets and proof of deliveries in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
- Selecting routes with regard to weight, height, width and road restrictions at all times, emphasising economy of movement.
- Checking goods on and off the vehicle and obtaining proof of delivery documentation, while ensuring security of vehicle and goods during transit.
- Operating vehicle ancillary equipment safely and competently.
- Confirming that the load is secure and properly distributed with regard to axle and gross weights, ensuring maximum safety during transits.
Requirements include:
- HGV1 Licence
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC Card)
- Ability to work a minimum of 2 nights out a week (allowance payable)
- Ability and willingness to deliver product using a Wagon and Drag vehicle
- Experience with a Moffett (preferred but not essential)
