Supports Vanguard's growth in the ETF marketplace by building relationships with buy-side ETF clients and ETF liquidity providers, while contributing to the development of the ETF ecosystem through internal collaboration, external partnerships, and scalable data and technology capabilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execution and Market Structure
    • Improve ETF execution outcomes through market structure knowledge, strong processes, and scalable capability building.
    • Use strong knowledge of ETF trading dynamics, portfolio management, and risk frameworks to improve execution quality and support internal decision-making.
    • Develop and improve data-driven tools, analytics, and workflows that support desk efficiency and strengthen day-to-day processes.
    • Identify and support improvements to trading processes, monitoring, and operating models in response to market structure developments.
    • Work with internal teams and market participants to address execution challenges and support well-functioning markets.
  • Relationship Management and Driving Investor Outcomes
    • Build strong partnerships across the ETF ecosystem to improve client experience, support product success, and help deliver better investor outcomes.
    • Build strong working relationships with liquidity providers, brokers, exchanges, and other important ETF ecosystem participants.
    • Partner with Sales and Product teams to support ETF growth initiatives, client solutions, and go-to-market priorities.
    • Turn ETF expertise into practical guidance that helps clients and internal partners make more informed trading and investment decisions.
    • Represent Vanguard externally with regulators, exchanges, and industry bodies to support a more effective market environment for investors.
  • Insights and Thought Leadership
    • Provide market insights and communicate them clearly to support strategy, education, and industry dialogue.
    • Produce high-quality analysis of ETF market trends, liquidity conditions, and macro or regulatory developments relevant to Vanguard’s strategy.
    • Develop thought leadership content and represent Vanguard in industry forums, panels, and client discussions.
    • Deliver education and training that deepens ETF market understanding across clients, partners, and internal teams.
    • Connect market insights to longer-term strategic opportunities, helping inform Vanguard’s perspective on the evolution of the ETF ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Proven extensive related work experience, including experience in Capital Markets related roles on buy or sell side preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • This job is a Certified role and UK specific qualifications eg. IMC or CFA preferred.
