The Senior Strategy Analyst plays a critical role in shaping and accelerating the growth of the UK Personal Investor (UKPI) business. This role is responsible for turning complex internal and external data into decision-ready insight, enabling senior leaders to make faster, better commercial decisions. Operating at the heart of UKPI, the role focuses on identifying, sizing, and driving the highest-impact growth opportunities—across product, advice, distribution, and partnerships—while ensuring strategy translates into measurable client and AUM outcomes.
About UK Personal Investor: UK Personal Investor (UKPI) aims to be the trusted partner for everyday investors across the UK by delivering lifelong value. This is achieved through two core engines of value—products and advice—delivered through a seamless, world-class client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Decision-Ready Strategic Insight: Translate complex market, competitor, and internal data into clear, actionable choices for the business. Frame strategic problems crisply (e.g., “Where do we win in retirement?”), quantify opportunity, and recommend a path forward. Produce concise, evidence-based insights tailored for leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Focus Relentlessly on Growth and the North Star: Anchor all work to client growth, AUM, net cash flow (NCF), and long-term value creation. Identify and prioritise the few highest-impact growth levers across UKPI (e.g., advice, product innovation, distribution, partnerships). Build clear business cases, including sizing of upside/downside and investment requirements. Track performance and ensure strategic priorities translate into measurable outcomes.
- Drive Strategy Through to Execution: Move beyond strategy development to actively driving delivery across teams (product, CX, marketing, partnerships). Act as a “connective tissue” across UKPI and external partners (e.g., Barclays, FNZ), aligning stakeholders behind shared priorities. Navigate trade-offs, remove blockers, and maintain momentum on priority initiatives. Ensure strategic intent is delivered through coordinated execution.
- Lead Strategic Analysis and Insight Generation: Independently define business problems, scope analyses, and lead complex strategic workstreams. Synthesise insights into clear recommendations and compelling narratives for senior audiences. Develop materials for senior forums, including presentations, white papers, and strategic reviews. Ensure data integrity and robustness of analysis.
- Maintain Deep Market and Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of UK market dynamics, client needs, regulatory developments, and competitive trends. Translate external intelligence into strategic implications and actionable recommendations. Identify emerging opportunities and risks for the UKPI business.
Qualifications & Experience: Extensive experience in strategy, corporate development, consulting, or a related field, ideally in complex, regulated environments. Proven track record of influencing senior executives, including ELT and C-suite stakeholders. Strong ability to connect insights across investments, product, distribution, advice, and financial levers. Deep understanding of UK market dynamics (clients, competitors, regulatory landscape). Exceptional executive communication skills — able to distil complexity into clear, compelling narratives.
