Improve ETF Trading Outcomes for Investors
As part of the ETF Capital Markets team at Vanguard, you will develop and support critical functions and relationships that focus on delivering the best possible trading experience for the ETF investor. The Capital Markets Team is responsible for:
- Improve ETF Trading Outcomes – working with ETF Market Makers, trading firms and Authorised Participants to ensure efficient creation and redemption activity and support for secondary market trading of Vanguard ETFs.
- Providing Trading Analysis and Insights – advising investors on market context and the most efficient trading strategies to reduce their cost of trading.
- Protecting Product Health – collaborating with internal teams to support product launches and increase overall product attractiveness.
- Influencing ETF Market Structure – partnering with industry working groups and collaborate with policy makers to promote ETF usage and improve the ETF trading experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Leads and supports projects designed to ensure efficient Primary Market processes for equity and fixed income ETFs including facilitation of the custom ETF transaction process with the portfolio managers.
- Develops Market Surveillance and analytical activities to ensure high quality secondary markets
- supported by managing relationships with market makers, and trading desks.
- Develops and maintains broad knowledge of trading industry and competitor activities. Partners with interested parties to provide recommendations with regards to market structure and proposed rules.
- Audits and maintains relationships with Authorized Participant and Participant Dealer firms including the agreement process, and assists with acquisition of new APs.
- Develops Insights from real time and post trade data sets and leverages market relationships to increase client engagement and trading outcomes.
- Works with Client Facing teams to educates investors on ETF product structure, pricing, and trading. Develops and delivers sales presentations for client meetings using technical knowledge to position ETF\’s. May speak at industry conferences or Vanguard events.
- Participates in ETF product strategy teams as technical resource to improve overall Product Health. Identifies opportunities to improve the operational or trading aspects of the overall ETF lineup or processes.
Qualifications
- Proven extensive related work experience, including experience in Capital Markets related roles on buy or sell side preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
- European language skills desirable
- This job is a Certified role and requires UK specific qualifications eg IMC or CFA
