The Vale School is seeking to appoint a Driver/Assistant Site Support for the Vale Secondary and Primary departments. The post-holder will work across all Vale School sites.
The Vale is a unique all-age special school for pupils with physical disabilities and a wide variety of special educational needs. The school is located in purpose-built accommodation attached to a primary school (Lancasterian) and a secondary school (Duke’s Aldridge Academy). This offers our pupils the best practices of a special school combined with the opportunities offered by our mainstream partners.
The post holder is required to
Assist in the provision of a day to day grounds and maintenance function, to ensure the smooth running of the Schools operations.
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on the school buildings as required
Ensure all statutory health and safety routines are carried out.
Drive the school minibus daily and be responsible for all maintenance.
The post holder will be required to be flexible, responsive; able to prioritise work and identify, diagnose and solve problems before they affect the operation of the school. A can do attitude is essential. Knowledge of best practice in health and safety would be beneficial but further training can be provided.
Please note successful applicants will be required to pass a six-month probation period.
