Overview

We are seeking a bright, welcoming, and engaging Breakfast & Bar Host to join our team at four-star The Vale Bar & Grill, at the Vale Resort.

This guest-facing role is all about creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests each morning, guiding them through the breakfast experience, and delivering top-quality service.

As the breakfast service winds down, you will transition to our stylish Vale Bar, where your focus will shift to delivering high-quality table service, engaging with guests, and promoting our exceptional drinks and bar menu.

Key Responsibilities: Breakfast Service – The Vale Grill

  • Welcome all guests warmly to the restaurant and provide an orientation of the breakfast offering and layout
  • Manage the guest flow, ensuring a smooth and pleasant seating process.
  • Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and ensure they feel valued and attended to throughout their visit.
  • Liaise with service staff to ensure the buffet and à la carte offerings are maintained and presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the breakfast period
  • Bar Hosting – The Vale Bar
  • Host the bar floor and deliver professional, friendly table service for drinks and light bites.
  • Build rapport with guests, offering personalised recommendations and upselling menu items where appropriate.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the bar menu, including beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.
  • Support the wider bar team in keeping the area clean and presentable.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; we value a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage with guests and colleagues effectively.
  • A naturally warm, friendly and out going personality.
  • A background in guest services or hotel operations would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • A genuine desire to help others and provide outstanding service is key to success in this role.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a 5 out of 7 rota
