The University of Wolverhampton offers a series of exciting online masters' programmes which are open to students the world over. We are seeking to significantly expand our roster of Zero hours casual contract Associate Lecturers and Dissertation Supervisors who can support our growing student body. Successful applicants will join a vibrant team of experts who will be called upon as needed to support our six yearly intakes across a wide range of modules in the fields of:

  • MSc Psychology
  • MSc Organisational and Business Psychology
  • MSc Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • MSc Computer Science
  • MSc Computer Science with Data Science
  • MSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence
  • Masters in Public Health (MPH)
  • MPH Leadership
  • MPH Global Health

Our online programmes attract students from across the globe. We pride ourselves on providing our Associate Lecturers / Dissertation Supervisors with a flexible working environment that lends itself to part time working. All work is paid at the hourly rate (£32.01) subject to normal deductions and pension contributions.

Associate Lecturers

All studying takes place online asynchronously through pre-prepared modules. Each module has been written by a subject matter expert and students are supported through their learning journey by the online faculty team of Associate Lecturers. The role of the Associate Lecturer plays a critical role in supporting students through their learning journey. Associate Lecturers are appointed to work on specific modules.

Dissertation Supervisors

Online dissertation supervisors support students to complete an independent piece of research through a structured module.

Main Duties

  • Tutoring postgraduate students online, from diverse backgrounds, in a specific field of expertise.
  • Use Canvas, the virtual learning environment (VLE) to engage with students, mainly via online discussions, activities and interactions.
  • Supporting students to navigate the VLE to work through pre-determined content, and to complete formative and summative assignments.
  • Supporting students in accomplishing established learning objectives.
  • Completing formative and summative feedback to assess coursework and other related assignments, discussions and activities.
  • Being adaptable to engage with different content across a range of modules.
  • Timely and courteous response to online correspondence from students, and the wider online faculty team.
  • Working collegiately within an online faculty team.
  • Supporting assessment and supervision of dissertation projects.

We are seeking enthusiastic dedicated individuals for the above roles who hold a minimum of a Master level qualification in one of the discipline areas outlined above, or a relevant discipline, or have equivalent experience. Experience of facilitating or supervising online would be an advantage.
