Overview
We are seeking to appoint a professional and organised individual to contribute to the delivery and development of the MSc in Creative and Cultural Industries programme through high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and engagement with industry practice. You will work collaboratively with the Programme Convenor to enhance student learning and ensure the programme remains current and responsive to developments in the creative sectors. This is a one-year fixed term contract starting on 1st March 2026.
In the School of Languages, Arts and Societies, we take an interdisciplinary approach to produce innovative research and teaching on a diverse range of disciplines, including music, languages, and cultural studies. The School brings together world-class academics dedicated to providing an education that equips students to become experts in their field of study and the skills needed to excel in their future careers. Main Duties And Responsibilities
We welcome applications from candidates who are capable of undertaking the following duties:
- Develop and write module materials and assessments from appointment through to September 2026 for the following modules: Introduction to Critical Theories and Concepts in the Creative and Cultural Industries; Digital Cultural and Creative Industries; Research Methods; and Project Dissertation.
- Deliver teaching on two core modules in Semester 1: Introduction to Critical Theories and Concepts in the Creative and Cultural Industries; and Digital Cultural and Creative Industries.
- Provide high-quality, research-informed teaching that engages students with both UK and global perspectives on the creative industries.
- Supervise and support students undertaking project dissertations.
- Assess student work fairly and provide constructive feedback in accordance with University regulations and timescales.
- Work holistically with the Programme Convenor to understand, review, and develop the modules and overall course structure.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the programme to ensure it remains current with industry developments and best practice.
- Participate in programme team meetings and contribute to quality assurance and enhancement processes.
- Maintain awareness of developments within the creative and cultural industries sector (including but not limited to games, television, film, music, and production).
- Where appropriate, maintain links with professional practice and industry networks.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject.
Proven teaching ability within the broad field of Creative Industries in a higher education setting.
Knowledge and experience of evaluation, development and innovation in research-led learning and teaching.
Ability to design, deliver and assess successful teaching programmes.
Knowledge and experience of programme level assessment.
Knowledge and experience of technologies to support learning and teaching such as Blackboard and Collaborate.
Proven ability in the management and administration of teaching.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including effective use of technology where appropriate.
Excellent interpersonal skills, to liaise effectively with colleagues, students and external stakeholders.
Experience of developing and maintaining a network of contacts throughout own work area.
Desirable
