You will be part of a team that develops, manages and improves the effective organisation of our taught programmes and related student procedures. You will ensure policies and processes across the student journey are clear, meet regulatory requirements, are consistently applied and deliver educational excellence. As a key member of the Education and Student Experience Team you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the university to coordinate and deliver a student‑centred, clash‑free and accurate timetable for staff and students, and help improve the curriculum and prepare for accreditation processes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of a high‑quality, optimal timetable for the school’s staff and students.
- Support the Education Manager (QA) with advice on the feasibility of proposed curriculum development or changes for PGT programmes.
- Utilise expert knowledge of the curriculum to support the delivery of high‑quality, student‑centred programmes, e.g. through effective timetabling.
- Take forward education and curriculum related projects and activities, working with the team to ensure a programme‑level approach and supporting accreditation processes where required.
- Collect and collate data for the teaching timetable, including curriculum information and staff working patterns.
- Liaise with colleagues across the University (CTT, other schools) to ensure curriculum development and timetabling needs are understood and issues resolved.
- Work with the CTT to allocate rooms, determine student groupings, check for clashes and resolve space usage issues.
- Contribute to the improvement of institutional approaches and services by sharing best practices and encouraging the adoption of improved ways of working.
- Analyse, report and resolve issues related to the timetable and curriculum delivery.
- Inform the School of the practical feasibility of new curriculum delivery.
- Ensure adherence to university‑wide policies and standards across the School.
- Support other Schools within the faculty, acting as part of a wider network and the timetabling community.
- Delegate to and supervise colleagues in the wider team as required.
- Support the wider team to deliver education, assessment and curriculum related projects in a timely and effective manner.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
PGT‑only Responsibilities
- Coordinate academic tutoring allocation.
- Support the management of the school’s student progression processes (including Extenuating Circumstances, Extensions, attendance and engagement).
- Act as contact for general disability, student wellbeing and inclusion support for all PGT students, referring complex cases to Student Support Services.
- Oversee LSP, DLO and ESA activity for the PGT team, working closely with the School’s Inclusion and Disability Liaison Officer.

Essential Criteria
- A level standard education with GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent experience).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to negotiate with colleagues at all levels.
- High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google applications, and the ability to learn new software.
- Ability to handle, manipulate and interpret large data sets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Creative problem‑solving skills.
- Highly motivated, able to work autonomously and know when to refer complex issues to senior colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills, prioritising tasks effectively and managing unscheduled work.
- Willingness to assist or lead team members and work collaboratively to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of policy interpretation to guide consistent application of working practices.
