Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Deputy Head of Procurement of Professional Services, the role provides clerical support to the procurement team, facilitating the implementation and delivery of a strategic procurement service.
  • The post holder will demonstrate administrative acumen, support the team in achieving objectives outlined in the University’s Vision Statement, Sustainability Strategy, Finance Strategy, Value for Money Strategy and Procurement Strategy, and work in partnership with Finance departments such as Accounts Payable, Travel and Business Expenses, Finance, and Business Change.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above (must include English and Maths).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Packages such as Word, Excel and Google applications such as Drive, Mail, Sheets.
  • Experience working in a hybrid team environment and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills and experience of delivering excellent customer service in a timely manner via different medium (e.g., virtual or face‑to‑face meetings, telephone and email).
  • Ability to demonstrate effective work prioritisation, paying particular regard to deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, paying particular regard to record keeping for legislative or audit purposes.
  • Ability to promote the department and team, including updating webpages and information relating to procurement.

Remuneration & Working Conditions

  • Salary: £25,249 - £26,707 per annum pro‑rata with potential to progress to £28,778 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
  • Work arrangement: Full‑time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Line manager: Deputy Head of Procurement of Professional Services
