The School of Law seeks a Senior Lecturer in Law (open-ended) to join the team from 1 September 2026. The role will involve research-led teaching, supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and contribution to the advancement of the School’s reputation.
Overview
The School of Law enjoys an international reputation for research excellence and global engagement. The successful candidate will teach modules at UG and PG level, supervise dissertations, lead research, and play an active role in outreach and professional development.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Research
- Conduct and disseminate innovative research at internationally excellent standard.
- Develop funding strategies, prepare and submit proposals to generate income and manage external research grants.
- Undertake research with potential demonstrable effects on society, public policy or services.
- Engage in professional activities with national and international professional bodies.
- Learning and Teaching
- Design, develop and deliver modules across UG and PG programmes.
- Coordinate team teaching, liaise with other academic staff or PG teachers to ensure quality delivery.
- Reflect on teaching policy, enhance design and delivery of existing programmes.
- Carry out module programme evaluation and implement quality assurance strategies.
- Supervise and assess UG and PG dissertation students and doctoral students.
- Provide academic support for students as an Academic Tutor.
- Leadership and Administration
- Take on leadership roles within the School, Faculty and wider University community.
- Contribute to development of relevant policies.
- Make ethical decisions, model inclusive behaviour, embed sustainability and advance EDI objectives.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
