Join the University of Sheffield as a Research Assistant – EDI. We are looking for a Psychology graduate to support the work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme.

The primary responsibilities for the postholder are to support the EDI lead for the Clinical Psychology training programme and will include developing and evaluating programme initiatives, such as a mentoring programme for ethnic minoritised applicants, curriculum review, community outreach, changes to the selection process, and supervisor training.

Overview

This post is to develop work set as a priority by Health Education England. The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and show a commitment to diversity, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the EDI lead on matters relating to equality and inclusion for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic trainee and aspiring trainee clinical psychologists.
  • Support the EDI lead and programme team leads in the development and delivery of a sustainable EDI strategy.
  • Support the EDI lead to liaise and collaborate with University and NHS colleagues, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide a lead in evaluating EDI developments.
  • Teaching and Learning: work with the EDI lead to develop and deliver anti-racism and inclusive practice for key stakeholders.
  • Work with the EDI lead on decolonisation of the curriculum.
  • Develop resources to support mentoring and training.

Relationships and Team Working

  • Plan and prioritise own daily workload in view of the requirements of the EDI duties and responsibilities.
  • Closely liaise and collaborate with local and regional University and NHS colleagues, trainees, Experts by Experience/Co-production colleagues/Service users and carers and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a responsible team member and develop productive working relationships with other members of the team.
  • Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Person Specification

Essential criteria include an undergraduate degree in Psychology, commitment to diversity, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
