Base pay range
Salary: £38,784 - £47,389 per year (Grade 7)

Responsibilities
- As Education Manager, oversee and manage staff supporting Education related processes that ensure and improve the effective organisation of taught programmes. Ensure policies and processes across the student journey are clear and straightforward, meet regulatory requirements, are consistently applied and deliver educational excellence.
- Collaborate with the School Director of Education and School Manager to support the delivery of strategic objectives. Improve the portfolio and curriculum within University regulations and external compliance requirements.
- Work with the Student Experience Manager to allocate responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner and oversee the work of team members to ensure a joined-up approach for students and staff.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of Quality Assurance and curriculum related processes. Provide leadership as an experienced line manager, and work with colleagues across the institution to ensure education activities are delivered effectively and efficiently in line with University policies.
- Lead for School compliance in relation to the Office for Student (OfS) requirements, freedom of speech, and accreditation processes where relevant.
- Oversee Quality Assurance and CMA compliance matters, providing expert advice to colleagues.
- Inform evidence-based decision making on programme design, approval and delivery.
- Oversee processes that support administration of the curriculum, including leading on programme and module development, amendment and closure.
- Support development and implementation of curriculum related priorities, ensuring a programme level approach is embedded across the portfolio and identifying improvements and efficiencies for students and staff.
- Manage academic complaints and appeals, student complaints and academic misconduct processes.
- Oversee core education activities including assessment, digital education, academic tutoring and timetabling, taking a programme level view.
- Support and engage in annual review and reporting activities, including Annual Reflection and relevant data returns.
- Participate in relevant committees (e.g., School Education Committee, Programme and Module Oversight Subcommittee) and act as a key point of contact for education related central services teams.
- Maintain robust understanding of internal and external policy and strategy and influence developments where appropriate.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Criteria
Essential
- Educated to A Level standard with GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent experience).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to negotiate with colleagues of all levels to deliver effective outcomes.
- A high level of IT literacy, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google applications, and the ability to learn new software.
- Experience of curriculum management and regulations in line with University governance procedures.
- Experienced line manager who can support colleagues to achieve to their full potential.
- Understanding of the Higher Education environment including Quality Assurance and CMA responsibilities.
- Highly motivated and able to work and make decisions autonomously, with understanding of when to refer more complex issues to senior colleagues.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner, prioritising effectively to plan for conflicting deadlines, whilst managing unscheduled tasks as required.
- Ability to undertake work of a confidential and sensitive nature, and act with discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to develop and implement processes and policies.
